Earlier this spring, little Riley enjoyed his ‘roarsome’ first birthday party at Woodley Cricket Club in Stockport. Riley celebrated turning one surrounded by 75 loved ones; 50 adults and 25 little ones.
“Myself and Riley’s dad Nathan both have big families,” says mum Milly, “Riley is actually the 16th great-grandchild!”
Chosen to match Riley’s bedroom, the jungle themed event was decorated with stuffed toy animals, from snakes and giraffes to elephants and monkeys, perfect for the animal loving little boy. Milly planned the event herself with help from family and friends.
“My friend Emma provided his welcome board, another friend made his cake, and my mum made the whole buffet consisting of lots of egg, ham and jam sandwiches. Nathan just showed up on the day, of course!” she laughs.
A local company was hired to bring in soft play to entertain the children, complete with slide, ball pit, books, tents and tunnels.
“I was emotional about him turning one and I still can’t believe how fast time has gone. I’m really happy with how his party went and I’ll definitely be doing it again next year!”
