Feeling a little lonely? Chatty Cafe is here to help.

Chatty Café brings people together. From grandparents to new parents, to carers and university students; anybody from any background can become part of the scheme.

The Chatty Café Scheme was set up by Alexandra Hoskyn and supports venues including cafes, pubs, libraries and more to designate a ‘Chatter & Natter’ Table where customers can sit if they are happy to talk to others.

In January 2019 the scheme won the ‘Innovating for Ageing’ competition established by the specialist financial services company Just Group. The competition aimed to find solutions to the country’s ageing problem and the judges picked the Chatty Scheme due to its simplicity and effectiveness. In 2022 the scheme’s founder was awarded an OBE for services tackling loneliness.

Chatter & Natter tables are hosted by volunteers and are run every week in venues up and down UK. There are now over 900 Chatty Cafés, our closest locations are:
