The Bramhall resident and staple of the local pub business celebrated his fabulous 80th birthday at The Alderley Edge Hotel on 22nd April.

Doug, who has been the head of Almond Family Pubs for fifty successful years, and his real-life family have been often frequent visitors to the hotel on Macclesfield Road, making it the perfect venue for the milestone birthday bash.

The black-tie event saw ninety glamorous guests celebrate in style, entertained by live music and a DJ set from local band Northern Monkeys, who often perform at the Almond Pubs.

Cheshire Flower Walls provided a glittering backdrop of black sequins and gold metallic balloon decor, to add a little sparkle to the night.

Partygoers were encouraged not to bring Doug birthday gifts, but to give to charity. Doug requested donations to the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research UK, in honour of his granddaughter.

Vicki’s little girl Bella has Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic condition causing physical and learning disabilities as well as complex medical issues, challenging behaviour and a constant feeling of hunger.
