We speak to Jessica Megan, aesthetic practitioner and CEO of well-established salon and training school, Jessica Megan Studios, to discover how to get red carpet ready skin.

How long before an event should I start prepping my skin?

For any event, I would always advise my clients to start on their skincare prep at least four weeks prior. I would advise avoiding make-up where possible and stick to a strict routine of cleansing in the mornings and evenings. I’d also suggest drinking at least three litres of water per day.

What vitamins and supplements are best to take for glowing skin?

Vitamin C is a massive go-to at Jessica Megan Studios, and we also love using Hyaluronic Acid. For an event, I’d highly recommend a skin-boosting treatment, which we usually do a few weeks before. We offer an amazing skin booster at Jessica Megan Studios called Profhilo, which gives you a great head-start with your skin prep. This acts as an injectable skin bio-remodelling treatment that helps stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin.

What’s the best type of peel to use on my skin before an event?

We would typically avoid anything too harsh on the skin right before an event. Usually for our clients, we’d recommend a fruit peel combined with a vitamin drip to help give that ultimate red carpet glow.
