So the big day is all done and dusted, and now you’re preparing to jet off on honeymoon. Here are some handy hints to make the universal pet peeve that is holiday packing that little bit easier.

INVEST IN SMALL LUGGAGE CUBES

If your case doesn’t have compartments or you just love an extra bit of organisation, individual luggage cubes mean your belongings will stay neat and tidy during travel without any mix-ups. Consider labelling them too so you can easily pick out what you need upon first glance!

USE THE LAYERING METHOD

Start with soft items (socks and underwear), followed by longer items such as trousers, which should be folded in half. Heavier items like shoes and belts should be placed on top or in the gaps around the edges of the case.

ROLL AND FOLD

Despite common knowledge being to roll all clothing to save space, only soft items should actually be packed using this method. When dealing with ‘stiffer’ fabrics such as shirts and dresses, ensure they’re carefully folded to stop unwanted wrinkles. Nobody wants to be ironing on their honeymoon!

PACK IN ORDER

If you’re off out for a celebratory honeymoon drink as soon as you touch down, pack this outfit last so it’s quicker to get ready when you arrive. If you’ve planned what you’re going to wear each day, pack in that order and hang in the same order in the wardrobe when you arrive.
