Over 250 people attended the Marvel superhero themed event for Ollie’s Army on 15th October at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa in Knutsford.

The event was organised by mum Lucy along with a group of friends, and was sponsored by Aerofoil-energy, Serenity Developments, Pegasus Purchasing Limited and Dream Sounds Media Group.

Revellers Events and JD Events supplied lights, balloons and backdrops. The Smithy Dance and Theatre group performed for attendees.

Ollie’s Army supports CNL2 Batten Disease is a neurodegenerative condition which robs children of their mobility, speech, swallow and sight whilst causing uncontrollable seizures and movement disorders. Children also develop childhood dementia and their life expectancy is a devastating 6-12 years old.

Ollie’s Army Battling Against Battens was set up by Lucy and Mike Carroll, parents of Ollie and Amelia Carroll, after Ollie was diagnosed with CNL2 Batten Disease. Sadly, a month later Amelia was also diagnosed.

The event raised a staggering £35,395.64
