Pilates and Barre instructor Kirsty, and her hubby Andrew, tied the knot (twice), earlier this year.
The pair, who met during the 2020 lockdown, celebrated their ‘legal wedding’ at Sale Town Hall – the place where Kirsty grew up. The ceremony was an intimate, family affair, with just ten guests present to witness the nuptials.
After spending the morning getting glam at Hotel Gotham, Kirsty travelled to Sale in style, via a Rolls Royce that had been arranged by her mum.
“She booked a white Rolls Royce for me, which was actually in homage to my late Grandie who passed away,” explains Kirsty, “it was really special and our photographer Stacey was so creative when it came to capturing photos in it.”
Later, the couple were joined for their reception by a further 60 guests, who partied with them in Hale, at the Westgate, followed by Gupshup.
Their second wedding location, hosted at Vrede en Lust Wine Estate in Cape Town, held a sentimental place in both their hearts too.
“Andrew is originally from South Africa,” says Kirsty, “and in January 2024 he took me to Cape Town to meet his family, where he proposed on a sunset cruise! It was such a shock but I was over the moon, so it was only right we have a wedding there too.”
On 26th February, 75 guests from across the UK and other parts of the world gathered at the venue, which boasted spectacular mountain views and a unique vineyard, to celebrate with Andrew and Kirsty.
Contemporary and clean in aesthetic, the theme was all white, complete with lush white roses and hydrangeas, and styled with crystal outdoor chandeliers and crystal cut glassware.
“The backdrop of mountains added all the colour and texture we needed,” Kirsty smiles, “it was stunning.”
One of her highlights? Walking down the aisle with Dad and seeing Andrew’s face (of course), but there was also a pretty impressive entertainment programme too…
“We had a live pianist and gospel choir singing ‘Circle of Life’ for the ring warming,” recalls Kirsty, “it was a moment I’ll remember forever. The entertainment from start to finish was unbelievable to be honest!”
“We had African Marimba Band Kirya Kuti, plus interactive dancers during the drinks reception, followed by a saxophone player and a DJ during the meal. The Black Ties seven-piece band played in the evening and we even had LED performers dance alongside the DJ as a surprise for the guests!”
A free bar consisting of local vineyard wines encouraged guests to get merry, so much so that the couple saw their groomsmen jump into the pool fully clothed!
“We are unbelievably grateful to make memories with family and friends before and after both weddings, which we will cherish forever. South Africa was the best day of our entire lives,” she concludes.
