We recently caught up with Mr Andrea Marando from STAR Clinic Altrincham to ask him about the revolutionary breast enhancement Mia Femtech™ that everyone’s talking about.
Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself and STAR Clinic.
I am a board-certified plastic surgeon practising from my own private hospital in Altrincham, the home of STAR Clinic. We offer a range of surgical and non-surgical treatments for the breast, face and body, achieved by our wonderful team that I have developed over the last 25 years.

How is a Mia® procedure performed and how is it different?
Mia® is totally unique and stands out from other implants available on the market. The implants are made of silicone and have a diamond shape to achieve maximum projection with minimal volume. We do not use a scalpel on the breast as we create a small incision in the armpit of 2-2.5cm to create a channel to the breast and then inject the implant. The Mia® Experience preserves breast tissue and breast sensitivity too.
You mentioned Mia® is good for mums. Can you breastfeed your children if you have Mia® implants?
Yes, you can, as the implants are placed behind the mammary gland, so there’s no direct risk linked to breastfeeding after the Mia® Experience. However, you should always consult your GP, as the ability to breastfeed depends on other factors too.
Will you continue to offer alternative breast enhancements at STAR Clinic?
Yes, of course, Mia® is a revolutionary procedure, but it is not for everyone. For ladies looking for a bigger increase than one to two cup sizes or who have previously had breast implants, there are other options available. We are a specialist centre for breast implant revision and encourage people to contact us if they are concerned about their existing implants or are looking to change size.
