The authentic, family-run Italian restaurant group announces its new winter menu.
The new menu will offer visitors comforting winter warmers made with authentic Italian ingredients, plus some show-stopping new additions.
Dishes will vary between San Carlo’s 25 UK sites, found in Cheshire, Manchester, London, Leeds, Leicester, Birmingham, and Bristol. Alongside San Carlo’s flagship restaurants, the brand also boasts a collection of outstanding dining concepts; Cicchetti, Fumo and Isola.
Originating from Venice, the Cicchetti experience celebrates one of the most enjoyable aspects of Venetian life – eating. Diners are encouraged to create their own meal from the cicchetti menu by ordering multiple plates to share, or eat alone.
New to the menus at Cicchetti London and Cicchetti North this winter are the Insalata Con Zucca (a butternut squash, beetroot and watercress salad), the Sourdough and Beef Stew (florentine slow-cooked beef on toasted sourdough), and the Tomino and Truffle Cream (crispy fried tomato cheese from Piedmont with truffle sauce).
The Fumo menu centres around delicious plates of cicchetti – bigger than a starter, smaller than a main, and perfect for sharing. At Fumo Manchester, guests can enjoy brand- new starters including Chopped Chicken Salad (pulled roast chicken salad with lettuce, egg, sun dried tomatoes and parmesan cheese).
The new winter menus include a wide spread of meat dishes, highlights include Agnello Pomodoro, (grilled lamb cutlets marinated in sundried tomato and thyme), Beef Cheek (slow-cooked beef cheek served with parsley, caper and garlic gremolata), and Manzo Piccante (spicy slow-cooked beef ragu with borlotti beans served with roman focaccia).
For diners that prefer fish over meat, San Carlo has also added a new fish dish to its winter menu at the Cicchetti London and Cicchetti North sites; the Lemon Sole Capers and Brown Shrimps.
Renowned for its wide selection of Italian pasta dishes, San Carlo has new pasta additions this winter too. Try the Mafaldine Beef Cheek, the Pappardelle Duck, the Ravioli Porcini and the Risotto Zucca this winter.
To round off the San Carlo winter menu experience, there are two new dolci (dessert) dishes. The Frangipane Peach (a peach and almond cake) and the Torta Caprese (an almond and chocolate cake) will both feature on the menus at the Cicchetti London and North restaurants, as well as the Isola, Fumo Manchester, and Regent Street London restaurants.
