A Mad Hatter’s tea party picnic is a quirky way to celebrte this Easter!

 Down the rabbit hole

Grass topped tables, metallic cutlery and vintage teapots combined with mismatched plates, cake stands and glassware make for whimsical tea party décor. Mixed floral arrangements with clashing colours, heights and varieties make for creative, theme fitting additions. For an extra special touch, scatter around playing cards, Jammy Dodgers and heart shaped sweeties, to acknowledge the Queen of Hearts.

 Eat me, drink me

Classic afternoon tea party sandwiches include egg salad, cucumber, smoked salmon and cream cheese, roast beef and chicken salad. Place these upon a cake stand alongside miniature cakes and classic scones as the perfect afternoon tea offering.

For that little bit of something different, offer teapots filled with ‘magical’ tea. Edible glitter can be added to English breakfast or any herbal tea for an enchanting drink that sparkles and shines as it’s poured into colourful cups and saucers.

Make It Fancy Dress

Optional of course, but for an extra bit of entertainment, why not go completely bonkers by dressing up as characters from the Mad Hatter’s tea party? Think the March Hare, Alice in Wonderland, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum or The Mad Hatter himself!
