The Women’s Health Club Summer Mood

Health & Beauty, Inspiration

If we had to sum up the The Women’s Health Club summer aesthetic this year, it would be this: Strong women. Glowy skin. Feeling good in your body. Morning walks. SPF. Iced coffees. Padel or pilates with friends. Prioritising protein without becoming obsessive about it. More energy. Less burnout. Moving your body because you love it, not because you’re punishing it. Basically, wellness which still leaves room for fun. Less pressure. More power. And honestly, that feels like the healthiest trend yet.

Founder Jo Hoddes’ Summer Essentials

At The Women’s Health Club, we’re all about the products, rituals and little luxuries that make women feel good. Stronger, healthier, more energised and more confident. So, for this summer edition, I wanted to share a few of my current essentials.

Summer skin starts with consistency

I’ll say it louder for the women at the back – glowing skin is not about having a bathroom shelf that looks like Space NK exploded. For me, summer skin is all about consistency. Hydration. SPF every single day (yes, even in Manchester), and simplifying things rather than overloading your skin. Here are a few favourites I currently have on rotation:

  • LED face masks
  • Skin tints instead of heavy foundation
  • Electrolyte powders for hydration
  • Scalp health treatments
  • Collagen supplements to support skin and recovery

My overall vibe this summer? Healthy, rested, luminous. We’re moving away from anything overly done and towards women looking like themselves, just better slept and properly hydrated.

My Wellness Non-Negotiables

There are also a few things I honestly think every woman should prioritise more during summer, especially when life gets busier socially.

Walking – underrated and free, walking is incredible for stress, hormones, digestion and mood. Never underestimate the power of a 30-minute walk, whether that’s with a podcast and an iced coffee, or with no headphones at all, simply slowing down, listening to nature and watching the world go by.

Protein – summer can quickly become one long social calendar of dinners out, cocktails in the sunshine and “I’ll just grab something later” energy. One thing I’m really focusing on is protein. By now, we all know how important it is for supporting muscle, energy, hormones, recovery and overall health, especially for women. For me, wellness is never about restriction. It’s about feeling strong, energised and properly fuelled so you can genuinely enjoy summer feeling your best.

Boundaries – not every BBQ invitation or big night out requires your attendance. Protecting your energy is wellness too.

Joy – this sounds obvious, but so many women forget it. Wellness isn’t about punishment or perfection. It’s about creating a life you genuinely enjoy living.
