New to the city this summer is Flat Iron, an affordable steak restaurant with a super concise menu that’s all executed exceptionally well.
The two-floor restaurant can be found in a Grade II Listed building, which first opened to the public as the office of the Royal London Friendly Society in 1908. Now, the interior of the restaurant showcases heritage assets and celebrates original architectural features such as timber flooring and exposed, glazed brick walls.
Meat loving couples can head into Deansgate for date night to indulge in perfectly cooked flat iron, taken from the often overlooked featherblade, which is tender, flavourful and juicy. You’ll find no overwhelming menus at Flat Iron. They pride themselves on serving much-loved staples, cooked to perfection, and we can certainly vouch for them here. Standout sides accompany your steak, with our top choices being their famous creamed spinach, stringy truffle macaroni cheese and crispy yet creamy bone marrow garlic mash.

More affordable than other city centre steakhouses, Flat Iron even serves ice cream ‘on us’ to all diners post-meal. Tahitian vanilla ice cream is blended with dairy milk and cream, and topped with chocolate shavings. It’s undeniably delicious.
Great steak. Good price. Top service.
