The newly refurbished Queen at Chester Hotel has undergone a sparkling £5 million refurb that’s fit for royalty.
Built opposite Chester station, the magnificent brick building was said to be the first skyscraper of its time and since opening in 1860, it has hosted guests such as Charles Dickens, Cecil Rhodes and Lillie Langtry.
Modern day guests will now find a sleek and homely hotel which has been carefully designed to honour the heritage and history of the building, with classic patterned wooden floors, panelled walls and plush fabrics.
Relax and unwind in one of the newly renovated bedrooms, 104 of which have had a sophisticated make-over, with a nod to the authentic regency period and style of the hotel.

The deluxe double rooms are stylish and modern with soft touches of luxury and contemporary amenities such as newly installed air con, flat screen tv, robes and slippers, tea and coffee making facilities and snack boxes.
Sample the finest signature cocktails in the historic V&A lounge and bar, or indulge in wholesome grub at the King’s Grill, where breakfast is served the following morning too.
The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the centre of Chester where visitors can visit The Rows, tour the magnificent mediaeval cathedral, or see the ruins of the largest Roman amphitheatre in Britain.
